What is infertility?

Infertility is a condition that should be suspected in couples who want to have a child and cannot achieve pregnancy despite having regular unprotected sexual intercourse for 12 months. In couples with suspected infertility, it is investigated through tests whether there is a factual situation that prevents the woman and the man from having a child.

Primary infertility is a condition in which the couple’s first attempt to conceive a baby fails to result in pregnancy; secondary infertility is a condition in which a woman who has had at least one pregnancy, whether or not she has given birth, is unable to conceive again.

Today, the number of patients with suspected infertility has increased due to the increasing number of stress levels, unnatural nutrition, bad habits such as the use of tobacco and tobacco products, as well as the increase in the age of marriage and the late age of childbearing attempts. However, with the widespread use of in vitro fertilization treatments, it is a common problem that the suspicion of infertility causes anxiety even though not enough time has passed.
