What is Menstrual Irregularity?

Menstruation, menstruation or mentation is the bleeding that occurs regularly every month from the first menstruation (menarche) until the end of ovulation (ovulation) until menopause. Worldwide, the average age of onset of menstruation in a normal cycle is 10-15 years and the average age of menopause is 45-55 years. The average time from one period to the next is 28 days and every healthy woman is expected to menstruate every month under normal conditions.

Menstrual irregularity is when the menstrual cycle starts before 21 days or when bleeding has not yet occurred after 35 days.

Menstrual irregularity includes changes in the menstrual cycle, which should have a routine each month. This includes the duration of the period, the amount of bleeding, the start and end dates.

Menstrual delay can be caused by pregnancy. Irregularity of the cycle can therefore be detected by examining routine disturbances in at least two menstrual periods.

What are the symptoms of menstrual irregularity?

In addition to the condition that menstrual periods should form a routine between 21-35 days, the amount and duration of bleeding also give critical clues about irregularity. An average menstrual period is expected to last between 3-7 days, bleeding lasting longer than 8 days and less than 3 days is considered abnormal and the causes should be investigated.
